Although the specialty of pain management is still in its infancy, pain management is going through many changes. These changes are occurring from both external and internal forces. Keeping opioid prescriptions safe, the use of multi-modal therapies and the advent of changes in the healthcare arena, all impact the ability of healthcare providers, especially the Social Worker, to deliver safe and effective pain management for our patients.
